Telling Friends and Family

I know it’s recommended to wait to announce the news until the end of the first trimester at twelve weeks due to the risk of miscarriage, but I could not wait to tell friends and family. That’s such a long time to keep a huge secret like that.

I caved and told my mom at around 10 weeks and made her promise to keep it a secret. She didn’t believe me at first because I always said I was unsure about having children. I had to show her a picture of my ultrasound to convince her!

Once we hit twelve weeks we slowly told the rest of our family and friends. We had mixed reactions of disbelief, excitement, and shock.

We weren’t sure if we wanted to make a social media announcement, but decided to around seventeen weeks.

It felt great to finally be able to share our secret.
